Cable Car to Skalnate Pleso & Hike to Mountain Huts and Waterfalls

This morning, take a scenic tram to Tatranska Lomnica and a cable car to Skalnate Pleso (1,751m), a crystal-clear mountain lake beneath Lomnicky Peak (2,634m). Hike a family-friendly trail through the Tatras, passing mountain huts and waterfalls. Enjoy lunch at Zamkovskeho hut, visit Cold Creek waterfalls, and explore Rainerova hut, the oldest in the Tatras. End the day with a funicular ride to Smokovec.

Dive into history and fun! Start with a visit to Spissky Castle, one of Central Europe’s largest, where a local guide brings its medieval stories to life for kids. Explore Levoca, a UNESCO town with Gothic charm and the world’s tallest wooden altar. End the day at AquaCity Poprad, enjoying thermal pools, water slides, and relaxation—a perfect mix of adventure and family fun!

Take a scenic tram to Strbske Pleso (1,347m), Slovakia’s highest village and home to a stunning glacial lake. Follow a peaceful trail through the Mlynicka Valley to the impressive Skok waterfall, cascading 25m into crystal-clear pools. Spot Tatra chamois on rocky peaks, enjoy a packed lunch by the falls, and hike back to Strbske Pleso before returning to Smokovec by tram—a perfect family adventure!

Walking: 4,5hrs, 11km/6,8mi, 400m up, 400m down.

Start your day with an exhilarating rafting trip through the stunning 23km Dunajec Gorge, surrounded by towering cliffs and lush forests. Perfect for families, this adventure is even suitable for younger children! After a tasty lunch at a traditional restaurant, cycle along the scenic Dunajec River to the legendary Red Monastery. Discover its fascinating stories, including the tale of monk Cyprian, before returning to your hotel.

Today is free for you to choose what you’d like to do. There’s a whole raft of activities to choose from, including cycling, walking, cable cars, horse-drawn cart rides, or maybe relaxing in outdoor thermal pools, or visiting the Belianska cave. The choice is yours and your guide will be there ready to help with anything you might need.

Enjoy a relaxed morning with time to chill or explore the stunning High Tatras more. It’s the perfect moment to soak in the last of this incredible region’s beauty. After lunch, transfer to Krakow airport, ensuring plenty of time for your flight back home—ending your family adventure on a high note!

Transfer Details

Upon arrival at Krakow airport, we’ll welcome you and take you to your hotel in Smokovec, in the stunning High Tatras. Our group transfer departs at 17:00, setting your trip off smoothly.

On your final day, we’ll depart the High Tatras after lunch and drop you at Krakow Airport by 17:30.

Krakow is well-connected with regular flights from the UK and Europe. The 150 km group transfer takes about 2.5 hours, including a border crossing. We recommend our group transfer for convenience and affordability, though private transfers are available.

Due to traffic, we don’t provide pick-up or drop-off at Krakow city hotels, but frequent trains connect the airport to the city in just 17 minutes for an easy, budget-friendly option.
