Family Summer Holidays
Experience summer activities in untouched nature including walking, cycling, rafting, and horse riding. Visit mysterious castles, traditional sheep farms hidden deep in the Carpathians, and even unique ice caves. Slovakia is home to an array of amazing wildlife, including the brown bear, wolves, lynx, chamois and eagle.
Family Winter Holidays
During the winter months, Slovakia turns into a paradise for adventure and winter sports lovers. The Tatras provide great conditions, whether you prefer downhill skiing or snow-boarding. Or why not join us for cross country skiing in the remote areas of the national parks, the spectacular views whilst snowshoeing or even dog-sledding and relaxation in outdoor thermal spring pools.
Group Sizes
Our groups usually consist of 2 – 5 families, allowing children the chance to make new friends while adults can relax in the beauty of their surroundings.
Activity Levels
Each tour has a grade. The grade determines how easy or difficult the tour is in terms of activity level. The grading system goes from number one to five, with number one being the easiest, and number five the hardest. This helps you to decide if the tour is suitable for you in terms of fitness, and if you think you’ll enjoy it. Below is a description for each of the numbered activity level grades.
Level One
These trips are suitable for any family. The focus is on cultural activities, and we’ve built in a little more time to relax along the way.
Level Two
Activities such as walking, cycling or skiing form a key part of these trips. The activities are planned so people of varying abilities, and children of different ages, can take part. No real physical fitness is required, just a family spirit of adventure.
Level Three
More active trips, which families with an average level of fitness should be able to fully participate in. These trips will feature walking, cycling or winter activities such as skiing and snowshoeing. There may be a longer walk on these trips and a more basic level of accommodation on some nights.
Level Four
These trips involve activities which will last longer - a half or full day. There may be more hills and the activities are generally suited to older children. Some moderate exercise before you come will make sure you enjoy the trip.
Level Five
Activity-filled family trips, which demand a higher level of physical fitness and are generally suited to families with teenagers. Days will be longer, walks will be hillier and there may also be early starts and more basic accommodation. We think these trips are thoroughly rewarding if you’ve put in the physical preparation.
