Avalanche Training and Ice Climbing

Enjoy a taster lesson in ice climbing. No previous ice climbing or mountaineering experience is required and all technical equipment is provided.

You’ll also have the opportunity to work with the whole range of avalanche equipment including an avalanche transceiver, avalanche probe, and avalanche shovel.

Learn about the principles of safe movement in the mountains and avalanche terrain, and about the different types of avalanches. You’ll also learn what to do in an emergency, and how to locate people under avalanche.
These activities take place in carefully selected areas of the Tatra Mountains, according to the prevailing weather conditions.
