About
Slovakia’s longest river is the Vah. It is formed by the confluence of the Black and White Vah Rivers, flowing from northern Slovakia to the south of the country where it meets the Danube River as its left tributary. Many important towns have been built along the Vah, offering great options for water sports - an interesting tourist attraction.
The Danube is the major river flowing through southern Slovakia, from Germany, through Austria and continuing south to Hungary and east to the Black Sea.
Other Slovak rivers include the Orava and the Hron. In the north of the country, the Dunajec river forms the natural border between Slovakia and Poland. You can experience one of the most popular attractions in Slovakia, rafting on traditional wooden rafts through one of the longest canyons in Europe!
