About
Discover the largest National Park in Slovakia. Protecting an area of long valleys, deep canyons and steep rocks, as much as 90 percent of the territory is covered by forests of oak, beech, spruce and dwarf pine.
Located amidst the second highest but largest mountain range in Slovakia, a network of marked routes and footpaths interweaves the area. Popular with skiers during the winter, the chair lifts are operated in the summer months to reach more inaccessible points.
Fertile mountain meadows merge into the forests providing the perfect environment for the existence of an unusually varied species of wildlife such as red deer, boar, wolf, fox and the brown bear. Aside from the stunning undulations of mountains, valleys and plains, a wide range of unique plants and flowers will be revealed in the long meadow grasses.
