4-Day Winter Walking Adventure in Slovakia´s High Tatras

Arrive in Krakow, meet your guide, and transfer to the breathtaking High Tatras. After check-in, attend a welcoming briefing to learn about the exciting plans for the days ahead. End your day with a cosy dinner at the hotel or a local restaurant, setting the perfect start to an inspiring journey.

Overnight: Smokovec

After breakfast, take a short group transfer to the starting point of today's winter hike. Explore the scenic Kežmarská Valley, winding through snow-covered trails to reach the stunning Zelené Pleso lake. Here, enjoy lunch at the cosy mountain hut, "Chata pri Zelenom Plese," with its warm and welcoming atmosphere. Afterwards, descend back to civilization and return to the hotel by bus. In the evening, you can unwind in the hotel’s sauna, letting the soothing heat relax your muscles after a day in the snow.

Walking: 6 hours, 15km/9,3 mi, 615m up, 615m down.

Overnight: Smokovec

Start your winter hike through the beautiful Velická Valley to reach Velické Pleso and Sliezsky Dom, Slovakia’s highest mountain hotel. Savour lunch with stunning views, then descend to Tatranská Polianka and enjoy a scenic tram ride back to Smokovec. Embrace each step of this unforgettable journey in the heart of the High Tatras. In the evening, you’ll have the chance to unwind in outdoor hot thermal pools, letting the warm, mineral-rich waters relax your muscles after a day in the snow.

Walking: 5,5 hours, 10,5km/6,5 mi, 675m up, 682m down.

Overnight: Smokovec

Start with a scenic tram ride to Štrbské Pleso, the highest village in the Tatras and home to one of its most beautiful lakes. Enjoy a stroll around this lake before your hike to the next mountain lake, Popradské Pleso, where a cosy hut awaits for lunch. Return to Štrbské Pleso and take a group transfer back to Krakow airport, arriving in time for your flight home.

Walking: 4,5 hours, 11km/6,8 mi, 315m up, 315m down.

Transfer Details

Upon arrival at Krakow airport, we’ll welcome you and take you to your hotel in Smokovec, in the stunning High Tatras. Our group transfer departs at 17:00, setting your trip off smoothly.

On your final day, we’ll depart the High Tatras after lunch and drop you at Krakow Airport by 17:30.

Krakow is well-connected with regular flights from the UK and Europe. The 150 km group transfer takes about 2.5 hours, including a border crossing. We recommend our group transfer for convenience and affordability, though private transfers are available.

Due to traffic, we don’t provide pick-up or drop-off at Krakow city hotels, but frequent trains connect the airport to the city in just 17 minutes for an easy, budget-friendly option.
