Map & itinerary

Upon arrival at Krakow airport, your friendly guide will greet you and ensure a smooth transfer to your hotel in Smokovec, a cozy village at the foot of Gerlachovsky Peak in the High Tatras. After check-in, relax and enjoy the surroundings. Later, join your group for a warm welcome and a preview of the exciting days ahead.

Journey to Strbske Pleso - the highest village in Slovakia, and embark on a guided hike to the frozen Skok waterfall. Discover the serene beauty of the Tatra wilderness, spot elusive chamois, and enjoy a picnic amidst the snowy landscape.

After breakfast, we're heading to Velka Fatra National Park. This place is seriously stunning with its dramatic ridges and rolling meadows.

We're in for a real treat today: dog sledding! Imagine racing through the snow-covered meadows, guided by a team of excited dogs. Professional mushers will teach us the ropes, so even if you've never tried it before, you'll be a pro in no time.

Later, we're going to relax in some thermal pools. It's the perfect way to unwind after all that excitement.

Today, we're heading to the charming village of Zdiar for a snowshoeing adventure. Before we hit the trails, we'll get a quick lesson on how to use snowshoes.

We'll be exploring the Spisska Magura ridge, which has some pretty cool history. These trails were actually used by smugglers back in the day! It's a pretty easy hike, so it's perfect for trying out snowshoeing. And the views of the Belianske Tatras are absolutely stunning.

Today, we're taking a cable car ride up to Hrebienok. It's a pretty high mountain, so the views are going to be amazing! We'll check out some cool ice sculptures that artists made and then take a short walk to Rainerova chata, the oldest mountain hut in the Tatras.

Next, we're heading to Zdiar, a traditional Goral village. We'll learn about how people live here and see some really cool wooden houses. After that, we're going for a horse-drawn sleigh ride through the forest. It's going to be so cozy! And to finish off the day, we'll have a delicious Slovak barbecue and go sledding!

Ready to hit the slopes? After breakfast, we're heading to Tatranska Lomnica, where we'll enjoy downhill skiing on one of the longest slopes in the Tatras. It's a thrilling ride from a high altitude all the way down to the village.

Whether you're a beginner or an experienced skier, there's something for everyone. We can even arrange a ski lesson if you need one. So, grab your skis and let's have some fun!

Choose your adventure: go skiing, hike to a mountain hut, try cross-country skiing at Štrbské Pleso, or enjoy a horse-drawn carriage ride. For a relaxed day, visit Belianska Cave or AquaCity Poprad. History lovers can explore UNESCO town Levoča or the TANAP museum. Your guide is here to help!

Our time in the mountains has been unforgettable, but all good things must come to an end. We'll be transferring back to the airport soon, so let's enjoy one last adventure before we go and we look forward to welcoming you back to Slovakia in the future!

Getting there - Smooth Transfers for a Journey that Shines

Transfer details

When you arrive at Krakow airport, we’ll warmly welcome you and take you to your hotel in Smokovec, nestled in the beautiful High Tatras. Our group transfer is scheduled for 17:00, ensuring a smooth start to your adventure.

On your final day, we’ll leave the High Tatras after lunch and make sure you’re dropped off at Krakow Airport by 17:30. We’ll handle all the details so you can relax and enjoy your last moments with us.

Krakow is easily accessible with regular flights from major airports across the UK and Europe. Our group transfers cover about 150 km and take around 2,5 hours, including a border crossing. To keep things simple and cost-effective, we recommend joining our group transfer service. Private transfers are also possible.

Since the first and last days of your trip are quite full and traffic between Krakow Airport and Krakow city can be heavy, we’re unable to provide pick-up and drop-off at city hotels in Krakow. However, getting around is easy with public transportation. A train runs frequently between the airport and the city, taking just about 17 minutes and offering a budget-friendly option.

Customers reviews

Susanne Brächer (Germany) February 2019

Our guide Jan is amazing. He has enriched our stay. The trip was well organized, easy going, professional (also the contact beforehand and after), the activities well appointed and put together. The Hotel we stayed in was fine, good bed, big rooms, balcony, rich breakfast - Jan arranged for some veggies and fruit, so really perfect.

Lisa Crooker (United Kingdom) February 2019

We all had a fantastic time and made new friends. We felt very lucky to be in the group that we had, we all got on very well. It was nice not to have too large a group. We were very impressed with you communication prior to our holiday.
Jan was an excellent guide, very friendly and was keen for us to have the best experience that we could whilst on holiday. The holiday appeared to work well as the members of the group appeared to be of similar fitness and ability (I feel that the holiday might not have gone so well if this were not the case). The activities were thoroughly enjoyed.

Jane Edwards (United Kingdom) February 2020

GENERAL FEEDBACK - YOUR OVERALL EXPERIENCE
Excellent introduction to winter activities in the Tatras. The whole tour was very well organised with a relaxed pace leaving some free time for us to use the Wellness Centre, go into town for a drink etc.

WHAT WERE THE HIGHLIGHTS OF YOUR TRIP?
Cross country skiing (in a blizzard!), the funicular from Stary Smokovec and hike to Rainerova chata (beautiful snowy hike) , dressing up in the museum (what fun), the horse and carriage ride (amazing!) and the final day going up Lomnicky stit on the cable car (thank you Petr, we would never have worked out how to get up there without you!). Every day was a highlight to be honest.

ACCOMMODATION
The Bratislava hotel was fab and view of Danube much appreciated. The hotel Uran was comfortable and our room was lovely and warm with plenty of hot water. The wellness centre was very nice at the end of an active day. However, its worth noting that the evening buffet at the hotel was very limited for non meat eaters. There were also some issues about room servicing which Petr quickly resolved.

TRANSPORT
Transfers and trains were all on time and very efficient. Petr took his car when the rail link to Strbske Pleso wasn't running due to a fallen tree. Petr worked hard to ensure we used the most time efficient way to get to places so that we could spend the most time there.

MEALS
Breakfast in both hotels was fine with a reasonable breakfast buffet. There is a good selection of restaurants in Tatranska Lomnica so plenty of choice for evening meals. Plus Petr was happy to make suggestions about places we could try.

PLEASE RATE YOUR LEADER
Fabulous! A++ Thank you Petr.

WERE YOU DISAPPOINTED WITH ANY PART OF YOUR TRIP?
No, not at all. The only very small point I would make is that the BBQ on day 5 is great for meat eaters but it would have been nice for Jeff, as a non meat eater, to have been able to join in and perhaps BBQ a veggie sausage.

WHAT TIPS WOULD YOU GIVE OTHER TRAVELLERS BOOKING THIS HOLIDAY?
Be prepared for changing weather conditions and make sure you have good waterproofs and warm thermal clothing. Also, be prepared to have great fun and lots of laughs.
