Map & itinerary

Welcome in Smokovec nestled in the shadow of Gerlachovsky Peak, the highest peak in Slovakia. Upon arrival, you will be briefed on the week's program at your hotel. Then, if time allows, take a stroll in Stary Smokovec, the oldest village in the Tatras, renowned for its traditional architecture, local shops, and delightful cafes offering a taste of delicious Slovakian cuisine.

Accommodation: Hotel Villa Siesta (or similar)

Enjoy a mountain tram ride to Tatranska Lomnica this morning before taking a cable car to Skalnate Pleso 1,754m. Next, follow the well-marked tourist trail to explore three of the Tatras' historic mountain huts - Rainerova, Teryho, and Zamkovskeho - each with a unique story and traditional hospitality to offer. Next, take a break at the Cold Creek Waterfalls, a natural wonder where you can refresh with the cool mountain air and soak up the magnificent views. Finally, wrap up your journey with an optional funicular cable car ride from Hrebienok to Smokovec before returning to your hotel.

Walking: 7hrs, 15km/9mi, 660m up, 1416m down.

Accommodation: Hotel Villa Siesta (or similar)
Meals included: breakfast

Get ready for a stunning hike through the Studena Dolina Valley. As you traverse the valley, marvel at the sight of colourful flowers, breathe in the fresh scent of pine trees and listen to rare birds singing in the mountains. The valley gradually widens, revealing terraced mountain lakes towering above. At an altitude of 1,960m, you'll reach Zbojnicka Hut, also known as the 'Robbers' Hut', where you can savour a delicious lunch. Once a hunters' lodge where poachers would stalk the valley, it's now a popular trekking base. After lunch, retrace your steps back to Hrebienok, where the hike began. From there, make your way back to your hotel.

Walking: 6hrs, 12km/7,5mi, 756m up, 756m down.

Accommodation: Hotel Villa Siesta (or similar)

If your flight is planned for the late afternoon or evening, consider experiencing one more walking adventure before saying goodbye to the Tatras.

After breakfast, hop on a mountain tram towards Strbske Pleso, Slovakia's highest village. Here you can admire a picturesque mountain lake, one of the most photographed spots in Slovakia. From there, embark on a scenic walk to Popradske Pleso hut, with another stunning mountain lake at an altitude of 1,494m.

Nicky Webber (United Kingdom) July 2019

We really enjoyed our walking weekend break. Airport was really convenient and pick ups were all on time. The Hotel was great location and lovely and clean. We found the breakfast was adequate for a days walking but it would of been nice to have tea/coffee facilities in the room. I would recommend this trip to walkers but make sure they are fit because its not that easy. We really enjoyed the huts and great value. The amazing scenery was out best highlight.Thank you Petr for organising the trip and we would recommend people to use your company if travelling to Slovakia.
